We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Physiotherapist with experience in Paediatrics and who is interested in working in an Integrated Community therapy team.
You will join an established team of Physiotherapists working in a holistic service with Children’s Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Community Paediatricians.
The post provides excellent opportunities to develop your clinical and professional skills within the community setting in the Richmond Borough. The post holder will contribute to the development of the service and supervise both students and assistants working in the team.
We provide physiotherapy services to children aged 0-18 years with neuro-developmental, musculo-skeletal and developmental co-ordination disorders in pre-school, mainstream and special education settings. We use a variety of approaches including Bobath, Hydrotherapy and running interdisciplinary groups.
The Children’s Therapy Team continually strives towards evidence based clinical practice and has comprehensive services to provide rapid access for children and families with short waiting times for assessment and treatment.

The caseload consists of children with a range of neuro-developmental musculo-skeletal and developmental disorders in pre-school, mainstream and special education settings.
We use a variety of approaches including Bobath, Hydrotherapy, DMI, and CIMT. We are involved in multidisciplinary clinics including joint assessments with therapies and paediatricians, Othotics Clinic at Queen Mary's Hospital and Orthopaedic Clinics at St. George's Hospital. We also run several PT only and interdisciplinary therapeutic groups.
We ensure development of junior therapists and the implementation best practice standards, providing leadership, guidance and oversight provided by our team. This includes: Under 5’s Neurodevelopmental, Over 5’s Neurodevelopmental, Special Schools and Musculoskeletal including early year’s issues such as talipes, Erbs palsies and torticollis.

JOB PURPOSE
• To assess and manage own caseload of patients, make a diagnosis, and to develop and deliver individual specialised physiotherapy treatment programmes.
• To work as an autonomous practitioner within the standards of professional practice laid down by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health Professions Council.
• To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, to deliver holistic care packages to children on the caseload, working in a range of settings including special and mainstream schools, early years centres and clients’ homes. Often this involves working as a lone clinician.
• To handle the mental, emotional and psycho-social aspects of working in Community Paediatrics including the management of children with complex / life limiting conditions.
