Job Description
A primary school based on The Wirral are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a student in their year 4 class, on a part-time basis, working 4 mornings a week, starting September 2024. Strong classroom management, experience with challenging behaviours and the ability to remain calm is essential.
The main responsibilities within the role will include:
– Provide one-on-one support to the student, both inside and outside the classroom.
– Adapt and modify learning materials to meet the individual needs of the student.
– Support the student with their academic work, providing guidance and assistance as required.
– Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes the social and emotional development of the student.
– Collaborate with teachers and the inclusion team to implement strategies to support the students’ learning and progress.
Requirements:
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.
– Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
15. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
16. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
17. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
18. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
19. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills
