Bolton Inpatient Service are excited to be recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join their successful, friendly, and supportive team on Beech ward. This job is being advertised with the option of this being a B5 to 6 progression post or a B6 post (dependent on experience). You will be working in a multidisciplinary team with another B5-6 and B6 Occupational Therapist on the unit. The MDT values Occupational Therapy as a core intervention to support service users' recovery.

Regular clinical supervision will be offered and encouraged from the Senior Occupational Therapist who is based on the Psychiatric Intensive Care ward on the unit. There is also the opportunity to participate in monthly Trust-wide Allied Health Professionals (AHP) forums and quarterly Care Group AHP CPD events.
Main duties of the job
1. To manage daily a caseload of clients with acute and complex mental health and social care needs, using client centred and evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and document these in accordance with local and national standards and guidance.
2. To be responsible for the planning, development and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy services within the in-patient unit, in conjunction with the Advanced Occupational Therapist, taking responsibility for specific development projects as required.
3. To participate in the operational systems and the development of the in-patient unit.
4. To provide leadership for junior AHP staff, multi-disciplinary support staff and students through formal supervision, education and appraisal.
5. To contribute to the development and maintenance of the Trust AHP service.
