If so, our client, a leading provider of Managed Equipment Services (MES) to the NHS and private healthcare sector in the UK seeks a Financial Data Analyst to join their team in Theale, Berkshire. To be considered for this role you must have advanced Excel skills, strong analytical skills with a logical, detail-oriented approach, a hands-on approach to data analysis, highly organized and capable of managing complex data sets along with at least 3 years of UK-based work experience in a similar analytical role. Ideally you would have previous financial modelling experience. Responsibilities Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic tenders Collaborate with multiple departments to gather necessary data and insights for model accuracy Building Excel based Financial Models to aid in business expansion projects Provide scenario analysis and advise on financial risks, opportunities, and impact of business strategies Present complex financial information to senior management in a clear and concise manner Support the enhancement of the financial modelling framework and best practices implementation Aid in Financial Reporting of long-term contracts both internally and externally Engage in bid pricing and investment appraisal. Reviewing Commercial performance of new and existing contracts Variation of contracts, update financial models in accordance with the revised business plans / variations negotiated with the client - to improve project profitability and meet client requirements Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial models and other financial reports and identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors Key Accountabilities To the Financial Modelling Team’s internal and external customers Team player within the Financial Modelling Team – support others Collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess business needs and develop solutions that align with financial objectives Performance Indicators Must be Excel proficient – Advance Excel user (comfortable with Excel Formulas and Functions and working with Financial Models) Comfortable around Excel spreadsheet creation, manipulation (and any other modelling tools) Disciplined and analytical approach. Problem solver: an ability to view things holistically to ensure that things are not taken at face value and always asking “does this make sense?” Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to interact at all levels Work in a structured and methodical manner, deadline oriented Continually seeking improved and more efficient methods of working Works well in a pressured environment Confident and personable nature Ideal Qualifications Completion of a recognised financial modelling course Degree educated (Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, mathematics, numerical degree or any other related degree) Ideal Skills and Experience Proven experience working in a financial modelling role which has a commercial focus Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in financial modelling or a related field Exceptional Microsoft Excel financial modelling skills with the ability to develop complex financial Models with integrated financial statements and discounted cash flow-based valuation calculations Discounted cash flow analysis skills and use of key cash-based metrics including IRR, NPV, discounted payback period and return on investment Numerical, mathematical, inquisitive, logical mind. Ability to be curious and question assumptions Knowledge of Financial Principles: Understanding of basic accounting, finance, and economic principles Good written & verbal communication skills Attention to detail, quick learner, can do attitude Good record keeping, efficient, resourceful Ability to present complex data and analysis in a high impact visual manner to senior stakeholders, drawing out the key messages and findings Business acumen and commercially minded Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Benefits Royal London Pension - 5% employer contribution Death in Service Scheme after probation - 4 times salary Maternity - 21 weeks full enhanced maternity pay; this is inclusive of Statutory Maternity pay.
