Corporate Development Analyst
Job Purpose
Job Category - Business Development, Licensing & M&A: Support in the search, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of inorganic growth projects such as Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and licensing, strategic portfolio reviews to identify potential divestment candidates, and capital market transactions such as acquisition financing and other capital-raising transactions.

The Corporate Development team is responsible for supporting the financial evaluation of inorganic growth projects globally for the Board, CEO, CFO, and Head of BD&L and M&A in collaboration with deal leads from Business Development. This position will report to the Head of Corporate Development.
The team manages a fast-moving portfolio of strategic projects on behalf of the Haleon Executive Team (HET). These strategic projects mostly relate to the origination and acquisition of companies or brands or licensing opportunities. Each project is unique. The projects can be complex in nature, involving the participation of many different functions, and in some cases third parties and external advisors. The team needs to work flexibly, driven by changing priorities and extremely tight deadlines.
As a Corporate Development Analyst, you will principally be responsible for supporting Corporate Development projects in close partnership with deal and finance leads.
This role requires strong financial and evaluation skills together with a broad understanding of the company's business and the industry in which it operates. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, an innovative and "self-starter" approach, an ability to deliver high-quality products to tight deadlines, and total flexibility of response to changing business requirements are critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
* Supporting on the valuation of a target company/asset using a range of public/internal sources, analysis of the financial impact of transactions (acquisitions, divestments, licensing) on Haleon, and the preparation of briefing documents for a HET/Board audience.
* Maintaining very complex spreadsheet models (often under very tight time constraints) and presenting outputs clearly and in a highly professional format.
* Provision of financial partnering and project support, including identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic business opportunities, equity purchase and sale, competitor analysis, scenario planning and analysis, and other ad hoc work as required.
* Preparing impact analyses (e.g., earnings accretion/dilution) showing the financial effects of inorganic opportunities, tracking, and reporting on market intelligence (e.g., M&A activity/precedent transactions) in Haleon's markets.
* Ability to consider Haleon as a whole as well as external stakeholders when assessing opportunities.
* Ability to support external interactions in a professional manner.
* Ability to plan and work effectively to often short timelines and flexibility to cope with changing priorities at short notice.
* Ability to understand and adapt working style to suit different situations.
* Ability to exercise high levels of judgment.
* High level of confidentiality required.
Our ideal candidate is someone with experience in any of the following fields: M&A / Corporate Development / Corporate Finance / Valuations.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
* Degree level education or equivalent.
* Ability to review, understand, and operate complex financial models as well as effectively utilize their outputs.
* Demonstrated ability to use various valuation techniques.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to gather, analyse, simplify, and summarise detailed and complex information from a range of sources.
* Accuracy with strong attention to detail.
* Expert proficiency in Excel and good PowerPoint skills.
Preferred Qualifications
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
* Professional finance qualification (ACA, CIMA, MBA, CPA) and understanding of commercial legal concepts.
* Knowledge of Bison/Power BI at a Corporate level and Corporate structure; ability to extract financial data from systems.
* Effective knowledge of all accounting standards, including IFRS, US GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley (if not an accountant).
