Personal Assistant/Carer - Bristol - BS16
We are looking for a Carer for a young man living with his family at home.
He is a happy, fun loving young man with a cheeky sense of humour. He has learning difficulties and well-controlled epilepsy. He is non-verbal but communicates his needs effectively.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being outdoors and doing something different every day to become part of a small team of 3 full-time carers.
A rough idea of his day includes getting him up, into a quick bath, dressed, having breakfast, and starting laundry. Then, an activity in the community such as walking, cycling, bowling, cinema, or picnics. You will sort his lunch and continue with your plans for the day. Evening meals are enjoyed as a family, followed by a bath and handover.
Duties include:
1. Activity planning
2. Ensuring medicine is taken
3. Minimal paperwork required
Driving is not essential as we are on the bus route.
Hours: 16-25 hours a week based on a set 3-week rota (so you know exactly what shifts you are doing). Shift hours are: 8am to 2pm and 2pm to 8pm. More hours are available to cover other carers' holidays.
We are looking for someone who is reliable and honest. Must like dogs.
