Hastings Insurance is currently looking for a Senior Human Resources Coordinator! This is a great opportunity to join an engaging team and provide project, research, analysis, compliance, and administrative assistance in support of our company's goals and objectives.
Position Location & Work Format
* This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position that will work within our standard office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
* This role will be a hybrid of remote (work from home) and in-office work at our Hastings, Michigan corporate headquarters.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
* Compliance
o Administers leave requests in accordance with regulations and Company policies.
o Assists with ACA administration.
+ Compliance testing
+ Eligibility determination
+ Annual reporting
o Completes EEO1 Report annually
o Works with vendor to complete NDT on benefit plan annually.
o Studies new and existing legislation and advises management of necessary action.
o Recommends company policy updates.
o Conducts department audits as necessary.
o Advises team on department document retention requirements.
* Employee Relations
o Establishes and maintains positive employee relations through networking with Hastings managers and employees.
o Serves as an internal HR representative and/or chairman on select employee committees.
* Administrative Support
o Maintains HRIS database as needed and processes new hires, terminations, and other status changes.
o Assists with the performance review process.
o Develops spreadsheets and correspondence (offer letters, welcome letters) as needed.
o Develops and maintains business intelligence reporting as requested by leadership.
o Maintains and updates job descriptions.
o Composes and types general correspondence, miscellaneous memos, and special projects.
o Answers employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
* Special Projects
o Conducts research, analyzes data, and prepares reports as necessary.
o Participates in and/or leads HR or Hastings Insurance corporate projects utilizing company Project Management methodology.
* Actively participates in professional development, i.e. continuing education or self-improvement.
* Other duties as assigned by leadership, either verbally or in writing.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, Organizational Development, or equivalent work experience.
* One to two years minimum of experience in a Human Resources role.
* Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication ability.
* Demonstrated PC skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office products.
* Ability to multi-task due to interruptions, delays, priority changes, and adjustments.
