The role involves reporting to the Category Manager or Business Partner and supporting category strategy development, execution, and sourcing activities within agreed categories of supply. Responsibilities include gathering spend, volume, and service needs data in preparation for eRFx/eAuctions, maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders and Procurement Business Partners to promote category strategy, understanding business needs, and driving compliance. The role also involves maintaining KPIs and metrics to measure the performance of annual savings and supplier performance within the category. Although there are no direct reports, the role requires working in teams and occasionally taking the lead on relevant subject matter items. Additionally, the role includes tracking market data and industry analytics to provide the team with future trends and aid risk management strategies, as well as collecting, collating, and analyzing supplier performance data to support the Supplier Management Framework process (MFA).
Main duties include managing the project pipeline and reporting/forecasting within the Provalido savings tracker, monitoring the contract renewal pipeline, and supporting the Category Manager in the creation, extension, or cessation of Master Framework Agreements. The role also supports the implementation of the new Coupa P2P process, tracking performance metrics and exception reporting, preparing and executing eRFx/eAuctions, evaluating, selecting, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers. Additionally, the role involves supporting Accounts Payable with payable issues when escalated to the central procurement team, facilitating remedial discussions between AP, Business Unit Operations, and Key Suppliers, updating and maintaining SMF Scorecards, and tracking Supplier Corrective Actions. The role supports risk management by tracking supplier performance, financial stability, and compliance to Alcumus, proactively identifying and delivering cost savings, cost reductions, and volume-based discount opportunities in accordance with group supply chain and procurement targets. It also supports ethical and sustainable sourcing initiatives, modern slavery VCSE and ESG requirements, managing and maintaining feedback on progress from the supply base, managing and reporting on category and sourcing KPIs, ensuring performance and practices are in line with all Supply Chain Policies, Procedures, and Systems, and working in partnership with the wider Procurement department members.

The person specification includes being educated to degree level or having equivalent professional experience/qualifications, relevant experience of working with the category of supply, excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, commercial procurement experience, experience in a fast-paced complex environment with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers, experience in working in a multi-site environment, demonstrable category
management and negotiating skills, and competence with Microsoft Office tools and P2P systems. It is desirable to be MCIPS qualified.
