Health, Safety and Environmental Manager - Sellafield, Cumbria - c6 month contract (inside IR35, rate negotiable) - heavy civil engineering and construction project
Responsibilities:
1. Offer technical expertise on Health Safety and Environmental matters, managing a team of 3 SHE professionals across the project.
2. Assist in implementing and maintaining Health, Safety and Environmental management systems.
3. Supervise subcontractor safety practices.
4. Lead safety programmes/initiatives and foster safety culture.
5. Conduct site audits and report on HSE incidents.
6. Develop and deliver HSE training.
7. Liaise with international and local workers on HSE issues.
8. Maintain audit registers and produce monthly safety reports.
What We Need:
Relevant professional qualifications such as NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ L6 in OHAS.
Previous experience in construction-related activities (including CDM), ideally heavy civil engineering.
Ideally, possess significant expertise to serve as a subject matter expert in one or more key areas of health, safety or environment. Must have strong interpersonal, IT and research skills and the ability to positively influence management.
