Description We are looking for a Stock & Systems Manager to join us at Wincanton, on one of our Defence contracts based in Telford but also covering Cannock too. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be responsible for all inventory for stock & systems, drive enhancements to inventory controls, maximise space utilisation, manage and enhance the utilisation of systems and provide ongoing value for the Customer. Must have experience of SAP and ability to interrogate SAP reporting. Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain security clearance prior to commencing employment which includes providing 5 consecutive years UK residence and employment/education history. Be responsible for all aspects of the management of stock, auditing, checking, IT, and systems. Identify stock and systems inefficiencies and provide new ways of working. Ensure that space within the facility is utilised effectively and make recommendations for improvement and enhancement. Provide cost efficient management of the stock control function, including availability and service levels as well as security, cycle count process and reconciliation. Be pivotal in day to day management and engaging with the direct inventory and systems team along with the wider workforce Always support the operation at all levels. Liaise with key stakeholders on matters surrounding inventory accuracy and auditing. Be able to demonstrate the influencing skills required to ensure that stock/system KPI’s are supported and delivered by the management team. Develop best practice working practices relating to stock and systems. Report identified instances of best practice failures not being adhered to operationally to the wider business. Lead the transformation of change from manual reporting to data driven reporting and management of daily tasks and activities Ensure investigations and resolutions of adjustments are thorough, timely and in line with Customer compliance expectations. Ensure your team and the wider operational team always have the adequate level of training and expertise to support and exceed the Customer’s needs. Effective maintenance of the systems in use across site and reporting of the key agreed KPIs. Ensure warehouse is organised and configured across all operational departments in the most efficient way to maximise productivity. To create and drive a culture of Continuous Improvement. A flexible approach to working hours will be required To deputise for the Senior Operations Manager or Operations Managers as required Ensuring all Personnel policies and procedures are followed that enable Colleagues to be treated fairly and with respect in line with the Wincanton Principles. What will you bring? Relevant experience in an inventory/stock/systems role, in a high-volume warehouse operation Experience of SAP and ability to interrogate SAP reporting.
