We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Work-Related Learning & Careers Officer to join our truly unique school.

Contract: Full/part-time, Fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover)
Range of hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30-16:30 and Friday 08:30 to 16:00 (with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break each day)
FTE salary: £26,409.80 per annum.
Actual salary: Actual salary £23,265.14 per annum. Pro-rata dependent upon desired working pattern of successful candidate.
Weeks per annum: 38 weeks + 2 additional weeks including 5 additional days for the training days as published in advance in the school calendar on an annual basis.

About the school:
Lighthouse School Leeds is a ‘Good’ school with aspirations to be ‘Outstanding’ in the near future. We are a happy and vibrant community, where young autistic people learn, flourish and thrive. Currently, we have 90 students on roll aged 11 to 19 years. Students study a range of KS3, Level 1/2 and Level 3 qualifications, including BTECs and GCSEs.
About the applicant:
The successful candidate will be organised and systematic in their approach to the responsibilities of the role. They will be able to plan and deliver outstanding experiences for young people with SEN to develop their understanding of the world of work and sustainable progression pathways. They will be committed to supporting the transition of students into their next provisions and ensuring that the Gatsby benchmarks are promoted and met. They will have a passion for careers education and understand the importance that this plays for both students and their families. They will uphold the Preparation for Adulthood agenda and the destination-led ethos of the School.
About the role:
To ensure all students are in Education, Employment or Training once they leave Lighthouse. Organising events, educational visits and placements with employers, and further education provisions, to raise the awareness and aspirations of students and parent/carers. Plan, deliver and evaluate careers projects/work-related learning activities that support the achievement of individual Education, Health and Care objectives and outcomes, ensuring the school is truly a destination-led educational establishment, achieving the Gatsby Benchmarks to the highest levels.
