What will you be doing?
Working on various regional sites, you will support the project & site delivery teams in the following areas:
1. Assisting the site/project team to help drive projects forward through administration of daily/weekly forms & checksheets.
2. Shadow experienced supervisors to learn effective site management practices.
3. Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
4. Participate in inspections to maintain quality and compliance standards.
5. Assisting in the setting out of new site structures and management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production, and customer satisfaction.
6. Learn and gain experience in writing, reviewing, and briefing method statements and risk assessments, and assisting in procuring sub-contractors, labour, plant, and material resources.
7. Maintain accurate records of site progress, issues, and activities.
8. Developing key relationships with site teams, client staff, design teams, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.

Apprenticeship:
You will undertake either L4 Construction Site Supervisor at Derby College under our mentorship and guidance. This course will support your hands-on learning in the role and vice versa. With a dedicated mentor and support from our L&D department, this is a great way to engage in a new career with a leading company in the water sector.
The course will be approximately 3 years of study and commitment.

Qualifications required to apply:
An interview with College will be required and the successful candidate must have at least one of the following:
1. Level 3 qualification with an overall grade equivalent of "Merit". This could be a Level 3 qualification in Construction or construction-related field, three A-Levels in relevant subjects, or Level 3 in Engineering. An international equivalent of the above is also accepted.
2. Relevant work/industrial experience of five years (Full-time). If this work experience is not supported by education qualifications such as GCSEs, then a minimum proficiency in Maths and English at Level 2 need to be evidenced.
Flexibility– The role is essentially site-based and whilst there may be periods when attendance at an office (Either MWH or a Clients), the need to commute anywhere within the Severn Trent region on a daily basis or on occasion lodge locally to a place of work is a requirement of the role.
Strong communication skills– both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently.
Strong work ethic- self-motivated, flexible, and reliable with good problem-solving skills. You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Excellent computer skills- a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.
Curiosity - a natural curiosity regarding how things work, is a desirable characteristic common to all commissioning engineers.
