Gasow Veterinary Hospital is searching for a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our TEAM!

Clinic hours: Monday- Friday 9am to 9pm, Saturday 9am-4pm, Sunday 10am-4pm
(potential for extending Urgent Care hours by the end of the year)
Shift Details: Schedules can vary and will include 2-3 evenings per week with a rotating weekend day 2-3 times a month. Schedules are set approximately 60 days in advance to allow for work/life balance and planning.
Compensation: $22-25/hr - will be commensurate with experience
SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL of $5.00 is offered for working our urgent care hours (Urgent Care hours are 6-9 Monday - Friday and Saturdays and Sundays).
We are open 7 days a week and offer routine veterinary care, as well as Urgent Care on nights and weekends. This is an awesome opportunity for a licensed veterinary technician who wants to offer high quality medical care to patients while advancing their own personal goals!
We are a AAHA accredited, 7 doctor practice that offers urgent care, CT scan, echocardiograms, ultrasound, laparoscopic surgery and more. Coming soon, endoscopy and oncology services will be available.
We have recently moved into our state-of-the-art NEW facility. This new facility has 14 exam rooms, 2 comfort rooms, 3 surgical suites and more.
We have added lots of bells and whistles for new equipment including Vetscaple CO2 surgical laser which minimizes bleeding, reduces risk of infection, and less post-operative pain, swelling and discomfort.
Our clinic has a growth mindset that focuses on not only the growth of the practice, but growth of our employees as well. We have lunch and learns every other month, monthly one-on-ones to establish goals, and a supportive staff ready to help teach and support one another.
We are looking for someone that has 2-3 years experience and a passion for surgery. We are looking for someone familiar with reading and understanding ECG's, comfortable with CRI's, adjusting anesthesia and a love for dentals.

Responsibilities
Major Duties:
* Responsible for in-patient medical care - administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed.
* Anesthesia/Surgery - prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilizes anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.
* Dentistry - provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery.
* Radiology - position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email.
* Laboratory duties - responsible for collecting, preparing, & running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated.
* Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools.
* Client communication for hospitalized patients - give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.
* Client medical demonstrations / education - teach/educate clients on at home care procedures.
* Veterinary Technician appointments - blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals.
* Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed - answering phones, booking appointments, admit/discharge patients.
* Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
* Assist with inventory control - informing inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies.
* Preparing prescriptions - dispensed medications & medication refills.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
* Ability to endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time.
* Must possess sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties in a hospital environment.
* Ability to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high.
* Routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and occasionally exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
* Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.
