Job overview
We are recruiting for a Housekeeper in ITU/ HDU who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in the Critical Care Unit. You are expected to adhere to proper food handling.
This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure that all areas meet health and safety standards. You will work closely with medical staff to support patient care by providing a hygienic setting that promotes recovery and well-being.
You will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality service by meeting and greeting visitors to the ward. Supported by the ward manager and the ward clinical team to ensure a customer friendly approach is used in interactions with patients and stakeholders. You will also support the general running of the ward by being involved in general organisation.

Main duties of the job
A Clinical Housekeeper in Critical Care plays a vital role in ensuring that the environment is clean, organized, and safe for both patients and staff:
1. Cleaning and Disinfection: Ensuring patient bays and common areas are cleaned and disinfected regularly.
2. Adhering to infection control protocols: Including proper cleaning of high-touch surfaces and equipment.
3. Stocking and Replenishment: Ensuring that essential supplies, such as PPE, hand sanitizers, towels, and cleaning products, are stocked and available.
4. Environmental Safety: Reporting any maintenance issues, such as broken equipment, leaks, or other hazards, to the appropriate department.
5. Supporting Clinical Staff: Providing basic assistance to staff in preparing treatment areas for procedures, including setting up trolleys and restocking items.
6. Compliance with Policies: Following hospital and department policies related to infection control, health and safety, and environmental cleanliness.
These duties help ensure that the unit runs smoothly, maintaining a high standard of hygiene and patient care.

* Basic general education – English & Maths
