We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Sanctions Operations Transformation to join our GLOBAL SANCTIONS OPERATIONS team. This role is located in MANCHESTER, UK - HYBRID. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: Lead and build a global team that prides on owning & managing operations transformation for sanctions screening while maintaining / enhancing a pristine control environment Own and manage the execution of the global sanctions operations transformation book of work to deliver on set objectives Drive best in class sanctions screening infrastructure which enables execution of processes related to disposition of potential matches in a timely and accurate manner through automation including use of Artificial Intelligence Analyze thematic trends to continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, client experience, operational resilience while always ensuring the management of compliance risk Ensure all transactional messages (such as payments / securities / trade finance) received via SWIFT (or any other means), all static data / reference data fields in various applications are screened in accordance with policies, procedures, and in compliance with laws and regulations Monitor and publish KRIs and KPIs periodically, identify causes for deviation from targets and proactively work on continuous improvement to achieve / improve upon the targets Track budgets and expenses to ensure financial discipline. Review staffing levels on an ongoing basis to ensure appropriate capacity is available to deliver against all objectives Recruit, motivate and develop staff, maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth and ability to function effectively as a team Empower teams by setting expectations on ownership, accountability and need to be agile, proactive Interface with multiple functional areas (Global Sanctions Compliance, Engineering / Technology, Internal Audit, Platform Leads), regional & global stakeholders, external clients (as may be applicable) to enable progress Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation, safeguarding its clients and assets, compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: 15 years of relevant working experience (preferably in related roles) with people management and leadership experience Subject Matter Expertise in Sanctions Screening domain and associated regulations Understanding of financial message formats and data quality to be able to recommend the ideal solutions Proven ability to manage impactful projects to improve sanctions screening. Understanding of sanctions screening filters, list management and rules would be an added advantage Exhibit effective communication with key stakeholders by exercising good judgment. Multi-tasking. Willing to pursue applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business Proven ability to build strong business relationships with a proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow through.
