Senior Community Psychiatric Nurse - Community Rehabilitation

The Community Rehabilitation Service provides intensive recovery-focused rehabilitation to individuals with complex psychosis and related difficulties. The team uses a holistic approach together with Social Care and 3rd sector partners to enable individuals to manage more effectively and independently in their community. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated CPN to work with our established Ashford/Canterbury service as one of the team's Senior Community Psychiatric Nurse. The successful applicant will care coordinate and provide rehabilitation nursing input to a defined caseload of individuals with complex mental health problems, deliver the therapeutic programme, and provide support and supervision to other members of the staff team. The team delivers comprehensive, individualised treatment and recovery plans which include supporting clients to maintain their living environment and encouraging them to have meaningful roles and purpose within their local communities. The core service hours are 09:00 - 17:00, but staff are expected to provide input between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00 according to the needs of the service, including working some evenings, weekends, and public holidays if required. You will need to have experience in working with individuals with complex mental health problems and be a registered Mental Health Nurse with at least 2 years post-registration experience.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Community Psychiatric Nurse is a key clinical leader within the multidisciplinary care team and will have continuing responsibility to assess, plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate care, communicate findings, influence and drive change, and promote health and best practice, patient safety, and experience.
The Psychiatric Nurse will be professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing and operationally accountable to the Service Manager.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Person Specification
Training, Qualifications and Registration
* Qualified and registered as an RMN with the approval to practice in the UK. Completed and signed off preceptorship.
* Registration with the NMC.
* Approved Practice Educator.
* Further training relevant to the role.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
* Supervision and appraisal of junior staff.
* Experience of working with complex mental health conditions in a rehabilitation setting.
* Experience of individual & group work.
* Experience of leading service developments.
* Experience of clinical audit and research.
Knowledge and Skills
* Demonstrable advanced skills in Mental Health assessment formulation, risk assessment, and care planning.
* Knowledge and expertise in the application of relevant theoretical models and approaches relevant to the client group.
* Understanding of the impact of mental health needs and/or cognitive impairment on function and occupation of clients, family, and carers.
* Training and presentation/facilitation skills.
