Job Title: OLE Apprentice – Level 3 Duration: 39 months Starting Salary: £24,282 (subject to 2025 review) Working Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm (Nights & Weekends) Location: York, Derby & Bedford - depending on the candidate’s location. Follow this link to find out more about the course - Rail and rail systems senior engineer (integrated degree) / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education What You’ll Do: To support the Construction Managers in all matters associated with the planning and preparation works ahead of the allocated OLE works. To support in materials preparation for the site works. To help with the installation of the works to the Correct quality / standards. Support and complete QCS as required on site. All activities to be carried out in line with all relevant Railway Group Standards, Network Rail Company Standards and in compliance with design & specifications. Complete level 3 Apprentice course. Core Responsibilities Work as directed by the Supervisor / construction Managers on site that you are assigned too. Supporting in the detailed site surveys, Checks against installation v Design. Supporting in the prep of material ahead of site works. Discuss all construction and constructability issues with the construction team Follow all safety critical processes (Rule book /SSoW etc) Refer any installation issues to the Supervisor / Engineer on site Attendance at planning, progress and technical meetings as directed Attendance at all training and induction courses as directed, including the level 3 apprentice course Weekend / Night duty as per roster All foreseeable risks are identified and suitably mitigated Ensure that the construction work is delivered to the required quality and on-site quality checks are carried out. Safety Specific Responsibilities To always behave and work in a safe manner Only carry out task that you are competent and trained to undertake. Report always fit for duty. Ensure that mandated PPE for the task being undertaken is always worn. Participate in regular monthly safety meeting with the Engineering Manager / Leads / CREs. Report all accidents, and incidents & raise any close calls. Participate in accident and incident reporting and investigation as instructed and in accordance with the safety management system.
