The work entails: Plans layout, installs, and/or repairs electrical wiring installations, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. Key Duties include:
1. Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local codes.
2. Prepare sketches as necessary showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future containment.
3. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit and associated wiring.
4. Connects wiring to fixtures and power equipment.
5. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
6. Connects power cables to equipment, such as motors, distribution equipment, and installs grounding leads.
7. Tests continuity of circuit to assure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.
8. Observes functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
9. Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
10. Installation of electrical systems per the current version of the Massachusetts Electrical Code.
11. Follows all safe practices for installations as required by OSHA and NFPA.
12. Insure safety of all employees, co-workers, and non-Elm employees on and off-site.
13. Insure high quality workmanship and code/standards compliance.
14. Understand and maintain expected scope of work and intent on all projects.
15. Understand and comply with customer expectations as contract and/or costs allow.
16. Assist with tools, and all other operations as required.
17. Explain Elm procedures to all staff, assure understanding and compliance, and show benefits.
18. Perform Sales and Marketing functions at all times (you represent Elm every minute).
19. Constantly be aware of other opportunities to assist clients.
20. Think through and plan all operations for maximum efficiency. Do this in conjunction with all involved from conception of project to completion.
21. Assist in teaching all employees in increasing technical skills, codes, safety, and other skills necessary to perform their duties.
22. Assure accurate and timely reporting of time and materials on all jobs.
23. Attend all management and other meetings to assure excellent communications within the company, and to feedback customer satisfaction levels to management.
24. Share new methods and procedures with peers to better Elm, and to service clients better.
25. Follow all Health and Safety and other company policies.
Must Haves: Possess a valid Driver’s License (home state), NH-Journeyman and MA-Class B/JR (or willing to reciprocate-MA). DOT-Medical certification (not required).
