An exciting opportunity has arisen within the CFO Group at T. Rowe Price to join the Controller’s Group as a Manager, with primary responsibilities to include: Managing the end-to-end financial and regulatory reporting processes for certain T. Rowe Price Group subsidiaries or branches Assisting with the assessment of the accounting, financial, and broad Finance operational impacts of complex client fee agreements and new products fee structures and manage certain revenue accounting activities. Assisting in broad Controller Group strategic or tactical special projects as they arise for group, its subsidiaries, branches or global operations. Participating in core monthly and quarterly Controllership accounting and reporting responsibilities. Principal Responsibilities Legal Entity Reporting Lead the preparation and audit of annual financial statements for certain legal entities, including managing external auditor’s relationship. Lead the compilation of accurate and complex periodic regulatory reporting and supporting calculations Understand forward looking business change impacts on entity financial position(s) and the effect on entity regulatory financial requirements. Manage the preparation of management reporting for internal entity Boards, including information regarding trends, analysis and insights. Assist in the technical application of multiple GAAPs for the preparation of complex accounting entries and preparation of the annual financial statements. Fulfilling ad hoc requests in accordance with global, regional, and country-specific accounting, reporting and process standards. Participates in special project activities (e.g., new IFPR initiative, ICARA, legal entities set up, system enhancement initiatives) Prepare complex ad hoc reporting and analysis, as needed, in situations which are often ambiguous and have strict deadlines Regulatory Reporting Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of regulatory reports in line with regional regulatory requirements for the FCA and MAS Tax Compliance Partner with group tax teams in the implementation of intercompany transfer pricing policy Participate in core monthly and quarterly Controllership accounting and reporting responsibilities for corporate and indirect taxes. Prepare and analyse monthly General Ledger account reconciliations for VAT in partnership with the tax team Personal Attributes/Skills/Qualifications University degree in accounting and substantial work experience (or equivalent) in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. A recognised professional designation such as Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA or related designation Investment management or financial services industry experience Previous financial reporting, accounting operations experience Advanced technical knowledge of accounting principles and practices and their application In-depth knowledge of regulatory concepts, issues and their application to a wide variety of areas Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (written) is preferred Strong analytical skills Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills. Can successfully operate and lead in a matrixed and cross-border / virtual work environment Can reach and manage beyond immediate team to apply and share diverse resources and expertise Skilfully negotiates in tough situations. Experience in the use of a corporate accounting system (e.g. Oracle, SAP, WDESK) Expert skill in spreadsheet applications and financial systems Proactive, energetic, engaged and skilfully builds relationships. Ability to leverage financial systems and data elements to actively interpret, review and question financial results, and financial position.
