Northumberland Park Medical Group are seeking a Medical Receptionist to provide a friendly and efficient service to our busy practice.
We're looking for individuals with experience in healthcare administration, particularly within the NHS, but we're also open to candidates with transferable skills who are passionate about patient care.
Main duties of the job

5. Utilize technology proficiently: Demonstrate strong IT skills and proficiency in medical software systems.

Duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Practice Manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels:
22. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
23. Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits, and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
24. Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
25. Taking messages and passing on information
26. Filing and retrieving paperwork
27. Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
28. Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
29. Dealing with medical records for patient joining and leaving the practice via PCSE
30. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
31. Using e-referral system where necessary
32. Clearing and re-stocking of consulting rooms as required
33. Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required from time to time, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
34. Ordering, re-ordering and monitoring of stationery and other supplies
35. Dealing with clinical waste when necessary
36. Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required; and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
37. Keeping the reception area, notice-boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
38. Promote on-line services
39. Any other reasonable duties commensurate with the post

40. Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
