Salary and benefits: Up to £90,000 dependent upon experience plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.

We have an exciting 12-month fixed term opportunity for an actuary to join our With Profits Management Team and help us transform how we manage our with-profits business and improve outcomes for our customers. Phoenix is the second largest provider of with-profits business in the UK with 22 with-profits funds.

The role
You will support a significant change programme that will deliver improvements to how we manage our with-profits funds including initiatives such as winding up or merging funds, simplifying payout-setting processes and harmonising methodologies across our 22 with-profits funds.
You will be responsible for developing proposals and solutions, ensuring the needs of with-profits customers are being met along with performing analyses to assess the impact of proposals on customer outcomes and consider the fairness of proposals for different groups of customers. You will lead the preparation of papers and reports for senior management, internal governance committees, boards and regulators and present proposals to a range of stakeholders, including simplifying communications of technical matters for non-technical audiences.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified actuary with relevant post-qualification experience in with-profits management or with-profits reporting.
* Ideally have experience of actuarial projects to deliver change, with the ability to meet the varied demands from both internal and external stakeholders.
* Time-management, planning and stakeholder management skills will ensure successful delivery of a mixture of project work, methodology reviews and business-as-usual support.
* Ability to conduct research and investigations across a range of financial and commercial issues.
* Excellent communication skills, working effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplifying communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
