Network Support Technician
To operationally provide first and second line support of the Trust's complex network infrastructure. To participate in the planning, design, specification, procurement, implementation and management of network infrastructure to support data, voice telephony and video.
To proactively manage the network to ensure that agreed service levels are met, using appropriate tools and utilities including Cisco Prime Infrastructure and WhatsUp Gold. To provide first and second line support services to users of the data network, including voice and video across the Trust, in order to maximise the availability and functionality of networked technology to end users.
This may be either over the telephone, by e-mail or at the desk-side. To install, configure, maintain and upgrade a wide range of network, telephone and video hardware and software. The post holder may also be required to participate in a rota for the provision of out of hours support, and must be capable of diagnosing complex problems without reference to documentation and colleagues.
