It is expected that the applicant will complement an existing department offering a full gastroenterology service. Across the trust, the care of gastroenterology inpatients is centralized at the Lister site with consultants currently involved in a 1 in 12 GI bleeding rota, which incorporates a 24/7 bleed service and some routine endoscopy at weekends whilst on-call. The post does not include a regular commitment to the general medical on-call rota, but please note the pandemic has meant some involvement in general medical care of patients.
