The post holder is a highly experienced practitioner/clinician who will have specific operational and clinical management responsibilities for the newborn hearing screen programme, incorporating the successful development, coordination, and integration of NHS Lothian Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Programme across the health board. The post holder will ensure that ongoing service provision complies with quality standards and will deputise for the Paediatric Audiology Manager regarding Audiology and Newborn Hearing Screening.
The post holder will be accountable for the day-to-day management of the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening budget and will ensure that service development is consistent with published national guidelines within agreed resources. The post holder will be responsible for managing their own workload as well as that of the hearing screening team.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult), then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
