HSE Manager Rotherham Salary £45,000 - £50,000 DOE Job Description: As the HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and motivating teams while providing expert guidance on all matters related to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards. Requirements: Proven experience as a Health and Safety Manager or HSE Manager is essential. Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is highly preferred, particularly within the metals sector. NEBOSH certification is mandatory. In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 is essential. Strong commitment to enhancing Health and Safety practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels. A proactive problem-solver, focusing on providing solutions rather than merely highlighting issues. Your responsibilities will include: Identifying potential risks and developing, implementing, and monitoring effective solutions to mitigate them. Ensuring compliance with current and upcoming HSE regulations, with a focus on maintaining robust systems and procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Collaborating with production teams to promote safe working practices and enforce safety protocols. Advising senior management and the board on strategic health and safety matters and providing recommendations for improvement. Engaging proactively with managers and key personnel to drive continuous improvement programs for HSE, conducting regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance. Leading discussions with staff and external stakeholders to agree on corrective actions for identified safety improvements. Overseeing all documentation related to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 18001. Leading investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing preventive measures. Organising and leading H&S committee meetings, coordinating with key partners. Conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring effective management of hazardous substances, including COSHH processes. Compiling and submitting RIDDOR reports as required. Monitoring and controlling the use of PPE, ensuring compliance among staff, visitors, and contractors. Developing and providing HSE training in collaboration with HR, maintaining accurate records. Continuously tracking company objectives through KPIs and providing insightful analysis for continuous improvement. Reporting on environmental performance, including energy usage and emissions. Maintaining an active presence on the shop floor to foster strong relationships with manufacturing operatives. Staying informed of the latest HSE regulations and industry developments.
