Purpose of Role: As a Planner and Scheduler, you will assist the Lead Scheduler with daily duties, delivering and monitoring key performance activities in line with company goals and policies. You will be responsible for a variety of planning and scheduling tasks, optimising driver routes, ensuring maximum resource utilisation, and delivering exceptional customer service in accordance with divisional targets. The role also involves maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, welfare, and colleague engagement. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with the Scheduling & Operations Management teams to ensure KPIs are met and to drive focus on key performance areas. Support the Lead Scheduler in daily operations, including dialing into operational rhythm calls, weekly reviews, and attending ad-hoc meetings. Schedule routes for service drivers within your assigned Operations Centers, ensuring full resource utilisation. Promote and communicate changes in working practices and company policies, ensuring staff are well informed. Assist with Customer Mobilisations and work with the Onboarding team to monitor progress, promptly resolving any customer issues. Foster a positive working environment and encourage continuous improvement within the team. Resolve customer service queries in a timely and efficient manner. Analyse routes and driver feedback to ensure optimum resource utilisation. Regularly review unplanned work and KPI trends to maximise efficiency and ensure best use of scheduling software tools. Manage and maintain backlogs at appropriate levels. Provide feedback to the Lead Scheduler on issues and suggest appropriate corrective actions. Produce analytical reports as required and recommend improvements in scheduling practices to enhance efficiency, punctuality, and cost savings. Travel to Operations Centres and meetings as required. Test and implement changes to scheduling software and processes. Skills and Knowledge Required: Advanced knowledge of scheduling systems and practices; a strong interest in IT and technological solutions. Strong commitment to ensuring the delivery of scheduled services and exceeding customer expectations. Analytical and proactive approach, with the ability to identify flexible solutions and continuously improve processes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with team members and customers. A collaborative team player with the ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure. A proactive and "can-do" attitude, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
