Field Service Engineer required based in Midlands (Commutable to Birmingham) for a prestigious client in the Process Machinery Sector. This is a field service engineer's role 'with a slight difference' that will suit a field maintenance engineer with a solid service engineering background but also good personality and relationship-building skills. Our client is looking for a field service engineer who enjoys the client-facing aspect of their role and can also be an ambassador for the company, building good working relationships with clients during each visit.
Our client is a very well-respected international manufacturer of process machinery, with a dedicated and close-knit UK team. The role is interesting and multi-faceted, involving a variety of responsibilities, including service and maintenance calls, dealing with technical enquiries, training clients on the use of machinery, and helping to sell the company's equipment and service contracts to clients (for which you will be rewarded via a company bonus scheme). The Field Service Engineer role presents an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wishes to be more client-facing and broaden their skill base, building relationships with clients across the UK territory. The company is currently experiencing a sustained period of success, with new products being launched continuously; this is an ideal time to join and build a successful career with a market-leading company within the food process sector.
Technically, there will be a mix between mechanical and electrical engineering. Responsibilities include fault finding, repair, preventative maintenance, installation of new machinery, customer support, and assistance with the development of new products.
Due to the nature of the service and maintenance engineer role, it will primarily be field-based, but when not on client sites, you will be based from the offices in Birmingham. Candidates must be flexible to occasionally work outside of standard hours as required (the company will take this into account with time off in lieu) and also be flexible in attitude and willing to take on responsibilities outside purely dealing with engineering matters and being an ambassador for the company and its services. The ability to be personable and deal with clients in a professional and friendly manner will be key to the success of the role.
Essential requirements include:
* Mechanical or Electrical engineering/service background.
* Full clean driving license.
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home 2 nights or more each week.
* Positive “Can-do” attitude.
* Good relationship-building skills.
* Personable and able to deal well with clients in a professional manner.
* Keen for success and keen to progress.
In return, the field service engineer role offers a very good basic salary and benefits package, use of a company vehicle (Ford Ranger), with the opportunity to earn continual bonuses, as well as joining an internationally renowned manufacturer of quality process equipment and all the opportunities for personal progression that will present.
If you feel you have the necessary skills and experience, please apply with your CV. We thank all field service engineers who respond, but please be advised that only those shortlisted for an interview will be contacted.
