Swansea Bay University Health Board (formerly ABMU) was created on 1 April 2019, after responsibility for providing healthcare services in the Bridgend County Borough Council area passed from ABMU to the new Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.
Swansea Bay UHB covers a population of around 390,000 in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas and we have a budget of around £1bn. The Health Board employs approximately 12,500 staff.
It has three major hospitals providing a range of services: Morriston and Singleton in Swansea, and Neath Port Talbot Hospital in Baglan, Port Talbot.
We also have a community hospital and primary care resource centres providing clinical services outside the main hospitals.
The Health Board is part of A Regional Collaboration for Health (ARCH), which is a partnership with Hywel Dda University Health Board and Swansea University.

Job Overview
This is an opportunity for a Health Care Support Worker with a keen interest in wound care to join the Swansea Bay Wound Care Service. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our dynamic team, with an interest in innovative working within the field of wound care.
This is a 7 day service providing wound care across the Swansea Bay footprint. The service undertakes diagnostic assessments and works closely with other community services to ensure optimal treatments and outcomes for patients.

The Healthcare Assistant (Level 2) will work at all times under the delegation of a registered practitioner or assistant practitioner in the delivery of person-centred care. The individual will work alongside a Registered Nurse to undertake assessments and dressing changes, contributing to the smooth and timely running of the Wound Clinic, in line with infection control procedures.
Travelling between clinics is expected as part of this role so therefore the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential. The Community Wound Care Service is a fast-paced clinic setting, where high-quality patient care is our priority.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge
* Minimum of Qualification Credit Framework - QCF Level 2 (formally NVQ Level 2) in Health or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience acquired through induction and on-the-job training.
* Evidence of maintaining to undertake further learning specific to the role & personal development.
Essential Experience
* Experience of working/caring in a health or social care environment.
