Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant (Hearing-Impaired Support)
New Directions is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work every morning from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm at a school in Swansea. The role involves supporting a hearing-impaired pupil in the nursery class, requiring confident communication in British Sign Language (BSL).
Requirements:
* Relevant child-related qualification or experience
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* Current DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one
We specialize in recruiting qualified Teaching Assistants with qualifications such as NVQ Levels 2 and 3, HLTA, CACHE Level 3, or BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies. We also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants without formal qualifications.
Experience with Additional Learning Needs (ALN):
Candidates with experience working with children with ASD, Dyslexia, MSI, PMLD, EBD, or physical disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils' educational and social development under guidance
* Assist with Individual Education Programmes (IEPs) and monitor progress
* Support students inside and outside the classroom to participate fully
