Nexos are seeking a Fabrication Supervisor with a structural bias to oversee operations within our fabrication facilities in Aberdeen. This is a full time, permanent opportunity.
This role is responsible for effective supervision of activities within area of operations. Ensuring efficient production to meet specified requirements and responsible for quality, health, safety and environmental matters within the fabrication facility.
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the Fabrication Supervisor will be responsible for supervising fabrication activities, ensuring work is completed to the required standards and within specified timescales. Establishing strong working relationships with supervisors, managers, and support staff will be essential to ensure smooth operations. The role also includes ensuring all employees under supervision are adequately trained, competent, and equipped to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
Other key responsibilities include managing production schedules, issuing specifications and drawings, and ensuring strict adherence to quality plans, inspection processes, and industry standards. The successful candidate will oversee labour force performance, address any non-conformances in collaboration with QC and management personnel, and ensure that documented procedures and safety measures are fully applied. The role also involves ensuring the appropriate use of equipment, tools, and materials, maintaining good housekeeping, and conducting first-line inspections to verify work accuracy and quality.
Health and safety are integral to this role, requiring the supervisor to oversee the application of all safety procedures, assist with risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations, and ensure compliance with permit-to-work requirements. Additionally, the Fabrication Supervisor will contribute to identifying career development and progression opportunities within the team.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Essential:
* Relevant Trade Qualification: Apprenticeship or Level 3 SVQ/NVQ equivalent in trade discipline.
* Previous experience within a Supervisory role or relevant industry experience.
* Good working knowledge of industry codes and standards.
* Possess strong management skills and the ability to review team performance.
* Ability to demonstrate a pro-active approach to ensure consistency and ability to produce required quality of work.
