An exciting opportunity has arisen within the pharmacy team for a dynamic and motivated individual to join the pharmacy department at St Georges University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The individual will join the pharmacy operational team who are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and safe and effective delivery of medicines for the Trust. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the strategic delivery and management of the outsourced and homecare services for the trust and ensuring that patients' care is at the forefront of decision making. You will also be responsible for managing and overseeing the drug expenditure for homecare medicines and working closely with the trust's clinical commissioning pharmacist to deliver cost-effective use of medicines. The post holder must have good operational, clinical and leadership skills with a demonstrable record of delivering high quality service and support. You will need good communication skills and experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job
1. Lead the strategic development of pharmacy medicines homecare services to the trust and external customers (where relevant) to meet local, regional and nationally agreed requirements and priorities.
2. Delivery of an effective, efficient and high quality medicines homecare service in line with all professional and regulatory standards, for St Georges University NHS Foundation Trust and other relevant customers.
3. Build and maintain proactive strategic relationships with all stakeholders including suppliers, other appropriate NHS providers, commissioner colleagues and other NHS bodies such as NHS England.
4. Train and develop the team to deliver an expert, high quality, effective stakeholder-focused service to all areas of responsibility.
5. Support, promote and facilitate medicines optimisation in the context of high cost medicines (HCM) ensuring best value, reduced harm and improved outcomes from the significant investment in medicines.
6. Work collaboratively with regional teams, multidisciplinary teams and clinical leads for the relevant specialties to develop and implement initiatives and guidelines to ensure the appropriate, safe and cost-effective use of HCMs.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* M. Pharm or equivalent
* Professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Postgraduate pharmacy qualification or equivalent
* Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
* MSc in either Clinical Pharmacy/General Pharmacy Practice
* Registered as Independent Non-medical Prescriber
Experience
* Substantial post-registration hospital experience including significant experience working in an acute hospital NHS setting
* Experience of contribution to the provision of the pharmacy homecare service
* Experience of contribution to the operational and strategic direction of the pharmacy department
* Experience in implementing and managing change
* Experience in supporting drug expenditure reporting
* Experience of coordinating and leading on clinical audit and research
* Experience of protocol/guideline development
* Experience of disciplinary matters and be able to impart results from them to staff in an appropriate and considered manner.
* Experience in local implementation of national standards and guidelines
* Experience of managing a budget
Skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and effectively as part of a team both within pharmacy and at multidisciplinary level
* Ability to think strategically
* Demonstrate experience in mentorship and training skills
Knowledge
* Management of risk in the clinical use of drugs
* Experience in managing medicines use expenditure/budgets
* Awareness of current national standards, guidelines and service delivery issues
* Ability to critically analyse and apply research to the clinical setting
* Familiarity with JAC computer system
* Experience of using an electronic patient record system
