As Commercial Finance Manager (CFM), you’ll work closely with the Centre of Excellence Directors (CoE), the Senior Leadership Team, line of business (LOB) Commercial Finance Managers and other business stakeholders. Acting as the Finance SME for functional departments, with a focus on costs, the CFM will provide financial oversight, astute commercial analysis and make recommendations to drive the delivery of the overall CoE/LoB strategies (for Simplyhealth and Denplan). Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, the Commercial Finance Manager will support our CoE Directors and Executive Committee to make great decisions and meet their strategic deliverables, all aligned to Simplyhealth’s core purpose; to improve access to healthcare, for the many, for the long term. Key Responsibilities Act as the cost focussed finance lead for the CoE or ExCo cost area, forming part of the leadership team for the area, feeding back financial performance, and advising on all financial matters Perform astute commercial and financial analysis, and make recommendations, to support strong commercial decision making and creating good outcomes for customers Work with the CoE Leadership Teams and LoB CFMs to provide inputs into business cases for delivery of pricing and proposition decisions Drive the CoE leadership teams and cost owners to develop forecasts and budgets in line with the reporting cadence to ExCo and the Board, championing accountability for overall cost decision making in line with Freedom in a Frame. Provide proactive oversight and challenge to cost owners to drive cost effective decision making Build collaborative and trusted partnering relationships with senior leadership and wider business stakeholders Support the evolution of the regular financial reporting process including insightful analysis around key drivers of CoE performance Own the cost allocation drivers across accountable cost areas to ensure CoE performance represents a meaningful measure of P&L performance Deliver insightful, consistent, and trusted reporting to support the forecasting and budgeting processes, through utilisation of appropriate systems and reporting tools About You You’ll have significant experience of providing lead finance support to a business function, including formulating performance targets and budgets in accordance with the business strategy. You’ll be commercially astute with the ability to develop models and pricing strategies to drive business growth and improve profitability. In Addition, To Be Considered You Must Have Demonstrable experience in optimising financial performance; whilst ensuring compliance with all regulatory, statutory and Group requirements. Finance business partnering skills including presentation, negotiation, and demystifying financial information for non-finance stakeholders.
