We have an exciting opportunity within NHS Supply Chain for a Director of Supply Chain Planning.
In this role you will lead the Supply Chain Planning function via the Logistics Service Provider to ensure service to customer service is maintained through effective operational and strategic planning.
The strategic element of the role is to develop appropriate and effective systems and processes for Supply and Demand planning. In addition, the role is accountable for supporting the development of efficient network planning.
The operational scope covers all aspects of S&OP and inventory management, including the strategy for product stock holding levels to meet defined KPI’s. The scope covers planning of inventory requirements from suppliers to meet inventory targets and service levels of stocked items and providing suppliers of non-stocked items visibility of SCCL requirements. This covers all aspects of Supply Planning including day-to-day management of the Logistics Service Provider, maintaining inventory levels and product supply to meet a minimum of agreed KPI levels, and delivering on or inside agreed budgets.

1. You will have overall responsibility for developing and delivering improvement of the organization's demand planning and Supply planning processes and inventory strategy and being the business change owner for achieving this.
2. Lead the detailed design and delivery of substantial projects within transformational change program, ensuring integration with other disciplines/functions; build management commitment.
3. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the organization's operational supply chain strategy for inventory and channel supply.
4. Lead the development of S&OP to support annual and longer-term business plans, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e. revenues or other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)) and resource budgets (financial and headcount); and ensure integration of key activities or projects across the organization.
5. Identify the capabilities needed to meet the development of the Supply Chain Planning function. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Motivate others to develop their capabilities and fulfill their personal potential. Build capabilities elsewhere in the organization through mentoring and other informal methods.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
* Senior Leadership experience.
* High level of analytical and logical thinking capability, with appropriate Degree or Equivalent Level qualification.
* Significant operational experience of Demand planning, Supply Planning, Distribution requirements planning in a complex supply chain.
* Significant experience playing a lead business user role in the implementation of Demand and Supply planning tools.
* Proven Team leadership skills.
