Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Location: Widnes
Salary: Up to £55,000 per year + performance bonuses
Service: Two-bed EBD home (currently supporting one young person)
A home that gets it. A role where you’ll be backed.
We know the role of a Registered Manager in a children’s home is rewarding but it’s also hard work. It’s emotional, unpredictable, and full-on. That’s why we’re not here to sell you a dream. Instead, we’re offering something simple and real: a settled, experienced team, a stable home with one young person already in place, and a senior leadership team who’ve done the job themselves and understand what support actually looks like.
This isn’t a startup home. It’s been registered for three years, with space for two young people. The provider is small (three homes in total), experienced, and growing slowly and intentionally because getting it right matters more than growing fast.
The role
You’ll be taking over a home that’s already running well. Your job is to keep it that way and keep moving it forward. You’ll lead a team that already knows each other, knows the young person, and knows what good care looks like.
You’ll have time to focus on quality, not firefighting. You’ll get the space to do the job properly building relationships, shaping practice, and giving the young people in your care what they need to feel safe and start to heal.
What you’ll need
* A good amount of experience in children’s residential care either as a Registered Manager already or a Deputy ready to step up.
* A solid understanding of EBD and trauma-informed care
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or very close to completing it.
* A full UK manual driving licence.
* The confidence to lead, but the understanding to listen and learn too.
What you’ll get
* A salary of up to £55,000 per year, with performance bonuses for the work you put in.
* An experienced, consistent team already in place, no rebuilding from scratch.
* Full backing from a Director who’s done the job and knows the pressures.
* Time and space to focus on care, not just compliance.
