Job summary We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Nurse who is passionate about chemotherapy to provide maternity leave cover for this role within the chemotherapy team We provide high standards of care to patients receiving chemotherapy treatments and this role is vital in achieving this. You will be responsible for setting up and co-ordinating daily nurse led clinics developing patient lists and allocating the workload appropriately. You will draw on your experience to solve problems and support the Lead Chemotherapy Nurse to develop new ways of working and coordinate service improvements in order to meet service demands and improve patient experience Ideally, you will be an experienced Chemotherapy Nurse who has completed an accredited training in chemotherapy nursing practice and ideally have extensive experience in working within a haematology / oncology or chemotherapy environment. The Chemotherapy Practitioner Nurse is a cutting-edge role in the field of advanced clinical practice, which crosses professional boundaries, undertaking traditional medical roles and leading inter-professional practice. It is a role model of excellence in the delivery of holistic care to patients. Main duties of the job To autonomously assess individual patient needs who are receiving systemic anti-cancer treatment, initiating investigations, determining differential diagnosis and initiating appropriate holistic, evidence based treatment and care and conduct nurse led clinics independently. To provide specialist and advanced clinical skills supporting the medical staff and nursing teams within the oncology department and to participate in the education and development of chemotherapy staff.
