The Central Library is the flagship of Sheffield City Council’s library service, the City Archives run the Local Studies Library onsite, and the Graves Art Gallery is run by Sheffield Museums Trust. It is an iconic building located in the Heart of the City and surrounded by other outstanding cultural assets.
This project aims to develop a clear vision for the Central Library and the City Archives services and feed into a range of options and recommendations to maximize the use of this landmark building in Sheffield City Centre.
As a Policy Officer you will provide policy advice and support for the Library, Archive, and Information Service, specifically supporting work on our Collections that are evidence-based and meet the needs of our customers and citizens.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and verbal communication abilities. You will be able to engage with others to develop a clear vision for the Central Library, Local Studies Library, and City Archive. You will also be able to work effectively in a political environment and with a wide range of stakeholders and customers. You must have the capacity to manage heavy workloads and meet tight deadlines, remaining reliable under pressure.
