A leading automation business based in the heart of Telford who have built up a fantastic reputation amongst their varied customer base. The company specialise in providing cutting edge automation solutions such as automated welding, machining and assembly solutions across Automotive, Aerospace, Yellow Goods and Nuclear sectors. Due to significant expansion of their order book and an increase in work with key customers, the company are now looking for a Controls Engineer to join their growing team.
Hours: 08:30 - 17:00 Mon - Thurs
08:30 - 15:00 Fri
The role
Reporting into the Operations Manager, a Controls Engineer is now required to join the team on a permanent basis to play a crucial role in the end-to-end development of machine control systems.
You will take responsibility for:
* Development/Design/Integration of PLC Software From scratch
* Familiar with Siemens and/or Omron PLCs, however all backgrounds considered.
* Project management from concept to fully developed machines ensuring work is compliant with PUWER and safety standards.
* Providing ongoing technical support for customer breakdowns and maintaining documentation of designs and software revisions.
* Commissioning of Automated Systems on site with customers and interacting with key customers to understand the scope of the project.
What you need
It is ESSENTIAL for the successful candidate to have the following:
* Relevant experience within automation/machine build systems industries
* PLC programming experience and HMI screens (Siemens / Omron, etc).
* 18th Edition/NVQ Level 3/ONC/D/HNC and equivalent industry qualifications
* Ability to Develop Design/Integrate Siemens PLC Software From scratch
Other DESIRABLE skills include:
* Experience within the Automation / Robotics / Special Purpose Machinery industry would be a distinct advantage
* Familiarity with FANUC Robo Guide would be desirable, but not essential.
