Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: West Midlands Region
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

We are currently looking for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading housing developer who have a great reputation in the sector and the UK's leading provider of affordable mixed-tenure homes. They are looking to further expand their commercial team and are looking for candidates that meet the criteria below -
Job roles and responsibilities of Senior Quantity Surveyor -
* Responsible for being the commercial lead on a number of mixed tenure developments and successfully delivering major open market, affordable and contracting housing schemes
* Compliance with Commercial and Company procedures through the Business Management System
* Presenting and agreeing the external valuation with the Client's Representative
* Pricing and agreeing variations with the Client's Representative
* Prepare and manage key and large risk subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts
* Subcontract procurement strategy and implementation.
* Ensure the procurement of sub-contractors is in line with the Business Management System and that the packages cover the scope of the works
* Check and ensure compliance and issuing of timely Payment and Pay less notices to Subcontractors
* Preparing monthly CVR & VCA reports for presentation to the Business Unit Management
* Monitoring risk and opportunity schedules and managing risk from Commencement to Completion
* Contribute to management of life of site cost & revenue forecasts across multi-phase developments
* As part of project team, help shape long term delivery strategy for project
* Provide input and cost and value engineering advice throughout the design life of the scheme and attend design team meetings
* Managing and undertake the personal development reviews of associated surveying resources, including training
* Must be able to swiftly identify any commercial threats to projects, ensuring this is fully communicated to the Chief Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager
* You will supervise and be responsible for Assistant and Trainee Surveyors as well as Commercial Assistants, setting targets and allocating duties whilst maintaining quality
Candidate requirements -
* Educated to a minimum of degree level in quantity surveying (preferred) and Professional membership of MCIOB or RICS (preferable)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, you will have significant knowledge of measurement and valuation in addition to final accounts and sub-contract orders and buying
* Strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management
* Be adept in preparing and understanding financial reports and will be comfortable utilising COINS
* Good understanding of 4p (Viewpoint)
