Reports to: Group Director, Product Certification Location: UK, between laboratories in Hemel Hempstead and Loughborough (On site attendance at each laboratory is required weekly. You can be part of leading that work as our Global Testing & Laboratories Director, leading the enablement of our clients to get products to market and comply with the latest requirements with comprehensive testing and certification. The Successful Applicant will: have considerable experience in managing testing laboratories (labs), including maintenance and health & safety in lab environments. be an experienced project manager with a broad technical understanding of industry/products testing. have strong, motivational and pro-active people leadership skills & a proven track record of coaching & managing senior technical teams. be experienced in managing profit & loss ledgers be a strategic thinker with a commercial perspective & improvement focussed approach. work with a full, clear digitisation agenda. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities Lead & manage all testing, maintenance & calibration experts. Support teams to ensure compliant delivery & the meeting of regulatory & accreditation obligations. Provide strategic & tactical advice & support to the business unit (BU). Develop & deliver against robust resource plans. Drive innovation & the use of the latest technologies. Have a full, clear digitisation agenda. Oversee the development & continual improvement of the BU. Set, review & report on KPIs, manage P&L. Collaborate on new projects to build CAPEX/OPEX.
