Birchwell Associates is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established professional services firm, who are looking to appoint an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their growing internal IT team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to play a key role in delivering robust, friendly, and reliable IT support across the organisations office network.
About the Role:
Based primarily in Stamford, this role will involve regular travel to additional office locations. Therefore, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (insured for business use) are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide responsive, approachable IT support to users at all levels
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues both remotely and in person
Install and configure desktop and server systems
Contribute to the development and rollout of new technologies and infrastructure
Proactive maintenance and monitoring of systems and networks
Research and implement innovative IT solutions
Resolve complex technical issues through structured problem-solving
Prepare clear documentation and assist with internal user training
Support day-to-day IT operations and system administration
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications
Essential:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Level 2 or above
Degree, college-level qualification, or proven experience in IT or computing
Desirable:
Industry-recognised certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft, etc.)
Technical Knowledge
Essential:
Windows 11
Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 & Hyper-V
Active Directory & Group Policy
Wired/wireless networking and TCP/IP protocols
Microsoft 365 & Exchange administration
Azure platform familiarity
VPN setup and support
Desirable:
Microsoft Entra
Intune / mobile device management
Legal sector applications (e.g. SOS, Visualfiles)
Skills and Attributes
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure
Well-organised with a logical and methodical approach
