This is an exciting opportunity within a health and wellness SME… you’ll be responsible for providing technical and regulatory direction and guidance to a suite of nutritional brands in the UK and across Europe.

What you’ll be doing:
As Regulatory Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all products comply with relevant food and supplement regulations across the region, including label accuracy, claims substantiation, and overall product compliance, by closely monitoring legislative changes, advising on new product development, managing regulatory submissions, and maintaining communication with regulatory authorities.
You’ll be responsible for:
Compliance with regulations:
* Thoroughly understanding and interpreting UK and EU food and supplement regulations, including novel food regulations, health claims, and labelling requirements.
* Reviewing and approving product labels, marketing materials, and website content to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Monitoring regulatory updates and changes to identify potential impacts on product development and marketing strategies.
* Advising R&D teams on regulatory considerations during new product development, including ingredient selection, nutrient claims, and dosage forms.
* Conducting risk assessments to identify potential regulatory challenges associated with new products.
* Supporting the preparation of regulatory submissions for new products, including notifications and dossier compilation.
* Work with our USA regulatory specialist to ensure formulation and innovation consistency across markets.
Labelling and claims management:
* Ensuring all nutritional information and health claims on labels are scientifically supported and compliant with relevant regulations.
* Reviewing and approving claims for advertising and marketing materials.
* Staying updated on scientific evidence regarding nutrient functions and health claims.
Regulatory agency interaction:
* Maintaining open communication with the relevant regulatory authorities (e.g., FSA, EFSA, MHRA and HFMA) to address queries, provide required documentation, and manage any compliance issues.
* Representing the company in regulatory interactions and inspections.
Internal compliance oversight:
* Developing and implementing regulatory compliance procedures and policies within the company.
* Conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
* Providing regulatory training to cross-functional teams.
Market analysis and trend monitoring:
* Staying informed about emerging regulatory trends in the UK and EU nutritional market.
* Identifying potential regulatory risks and opportunities for the company.
Required skills and qualifications:
* Deep understanding of UK and EU food and supplement regulations.
* Strong scientific background in nutrition and food science.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
* A proven record of consistent levels of regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment with significant market-first innovation.
* Ability to analyse complex data and make informed regulatory decisions.
* Proficiency in relevant regulatory submission processes.

It would be an advantage if you have:
* Experience of working in a small, fast-growing business.
* A background working or interest in female health / hormonal health.
* Knowledge of mobile applications regulatory framework and experience of working in this area.

The role will be predominantly remote with one day in the office once a month. Three days per week coverage is required.
