Job summary Assistant Practitioner (Occupational Therapy)/Clinical Support Worker (Occupational Therapy) - dependent on Qualifications and Experience The Secure care CBU is a regional service offering care and treatment to individuals who have either mental health, personality disorder or learning disability diagnoses and have come into contact with the Criminal justice system. The service works across medium and low secure inpatient wards, the community and prison. These posts are within our medium and low secure wards to support our Occupational Therapists deliver interventions that maximise our service user's ability to develop independent living skills and a routine of meaningful occupation that supports their transition to the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating group and 1:1 interventions that support that includes personal and domestic activities of daily living, productive activity and socially inclusive leisure pursuits NB Please be aware we can only appoint you as an Assistant Practitioner if you hold a minimum of a foundation degree. There may be the opportunity to support you to work towards this qualification once in post. Main duties of the job Use specialised technical and creative skills to facilitate 1:1 and group activities that promote recovery, well being and independence. Carry a delegated case load from Occupational Therapists; carry out aspects of their therapy goals and feed back progress Work as part of the multi disciplinary team which includes Consultant Psychiatrists, Nursing, Psychology, Speech and language therapy and support staff to understand general well being, risks to self and others. Support service users and their carers to be directly involved in developing our services.
