Our client is a well-renowned Construction company adding multidisciplinary contractors and delivering innovative engineering and construction solutions across the rail, highways, aviation, ports, defence, energy, water, and environment sectors. We are seeking a Senior Planner for them for their Build business.
The successful individual will:
1. Maintain an overview of all aspects relating to Planning/Programme for the project.
2. Support the Project Manager with managing all aspects relating to Planning/Programme for a particular project(s) and assist in defining a methodology.
3. Add value to the project(s) by promoting ‘best value’ design solutions.
4. Portray a professional and responsible image of the company to the clients, their colleagues and contractors.
5. Contribute to the ‘Bid Team’ delivering programme advice, value engineering options, operation delivery solutions, preliminary input and bid document information.
6. Promote Health Safety and Quality to the projects and through the tender process.
7. Ensure that the company processes for weekly/monthly progress monitoring and reporting are fulfilled for relevant project/s.
8. Be fully aware and understand the requirements and implications, to yourself and others, of the company’s current health and safety, environmental and quality policy.
9. Be responsible for updating your personal information and site information, as designated, on the company intranet (workspace).
10. Act professionally and promote the company’s best standards and practices at all times.
11. Oversee planning on a major project or multiple smaller projects.
12. Mentor/Coach Junior planners at times.
13. Input into tender programme production from the drawings and specifications for the bid documentation.
14. Support the ‘Bid Team’ in producing documentation for the tender submission, such as Method Statements, preliminaries, site visits.
15. Attend interviews as requested.
16. Support the Project Manager/Senior Site Manager in ensuring that the logic linked Design/Procurement element of the programme is produced and routinely maintain progress with site personnel.
17. Support the Project Manager in ensuring that the Contract programme is developed and routinely maintain progress with the Project Manager.
18. Ensure the logic linked Contract programme is issued and agreed.
19. Mark up progress routinely for the reporting procedures (Design and Construction programmes).
20. Fulfill the weekly reporting procedure to monitor site activities.
21. Assist in producing recovery programmes where required and Project Surveyor in developing programme information in conjunction with claim situations.
22. Produce ‘As built’ programmes in accordance with procedures.
23. Maintain contract commercial discipline throughout the contract.
24. Identify commercial change and notify the project team.
25. Attend and contribute to the Post Contract Review meetings.
26. Provide feedback to the review meetings on programme performance and give a ‘lessons learnt’ talk.
27. Take ‘lessons learnt’ from projects onto new projects.
28. Ensure programming is undertaken in accordance with agreed company processes.
29. Give onsite training to the project management team on planning and programming techniques and software.
30. Provide on-site advice to the project management team.
