To be the lead technician for service improvement and strategic development of the clinical and operational technical pharmacy services to the Acute Medicine areas. To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a safe, efficient, high quality, innovative and cost-effective technical ward service by ensuring services are delivered to the minimum of accepted local and national standards, meeting current and future legal requirements and professional guidelines and ethical codes of practice. To ensure the effective running of the pharmacy satellite dispensary. To be responsible for the planning and delivery of a safe and effective technical ward service, in conjunction with the pharmacy clinical team. To ensure appropriate levels and skill mix of technical staff are available to maintain agreed standards of service delivery. To lead the development and delivery of the ward technician training programme, ensuring quality monitoring standards are developed, agreed and implemented. To be responsible for ensuring quality monitoring systems are developed, implemented and agreed, and that targets and standards are set.
