Canterbury Environment Company are seeking a Workshop Fitter The role will include: Working as part of a small team responsible for the maintenance and repair of Canterbury Environmental Company’s fleet of LGV & LCV Waste Collection Street Cleansing and other ancillary vehicles. Working in a modern heated workshop, your role will be to carry out MOT preparations, maintain, repair and keep all vehicles legally compliant for safe operation on the road, whilst maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the workshop. Qualifications Fully skilled having achieved a full level 3 HGV apprentice qualification/City and Guilds Qualification/NVQ qualification Clean CAT B driving license HGV license (desirable) IRTEC Qualification (desirable) IMI Level 2/3 Award in preparing Heavy Electric/Hybrid vehicles for repair (desirable) Welder Approval Certification: BS4872 Certification (desirable) Working pattern is any 8-hour shift between 06.30 and 19.30 (finish) Monday – Thursday, and any 7-hour shift 06.30 and 18.30 (finish) on Fridays, 39 hours per week guaranteed. Saturday catch ups following a bank holiday are required and overtime may be available. You will undertake a comprehensive induction and full uniform and PPE will be provided.
