We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Assistant Procurement and Distribution who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
To ensure that all orders for pharmaceuticals are placed in an accurate and timely fashion so as to ensure the availability of pharmaceuticals for patient's treatment.
To ensure that invoices are accurately matched on the Pharmacy JAC system according to trust Standing Financial Instructions.
To work closely with the Trusts Finance department to ensure that payment of invoices are not delayed.
To ensure that pharmaceuticals are accurately received, stored and distributed to various departments within the hospital as well as to external customers.
To ensure stock levels are accurately maintained and discrepancies investigated
To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing an efficient and effective pharmacy service to the Trust, ensuring patients receive the optimum level of service and care.

Job responsibilities
To be responsible for assisting the Pharmacy ProcurementManager/Deputy Pharmacy Procurement Manager with placing orders in a cost-effective manner using technology to minimise paperwork.
To ensure goods received into pharmacy are promptly unpacked, checked off and stored correctly
To be responsible for the accurate and timely matching of invoices on JAC and other maintenance of paperwork related to the ordering and invoicing of medicines
To be responsible for assisting the Pharmacy Distribution Manager in ensuring all relevant wards and departments are topped-up with the designated amount of stock that they require
To assist when necessary with general clerical duties within the department.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
1. GCSE (English & Maths C or above)
2. NVQ2 (pharmaceutical) or ability to work towards NVQ2 (pharmaceutical) within 6 months
Knowledge
Essential
3. Basic computer skills
4. Accurately dispense to set standards
5. Demonstrated accurate numeracy skills, without using a calculator, including Simple calculations & Addition subtraction, division multiplication
6. Familiar with pharmacy procedures and workflow Pharmacy services
Experience
Essential
7. Previous hospital or pharmacy Experience
8. Understanding of hospital pharmacy environment
9. Understanding of working effectively within multidisciplinary groups
Skills

10. Evidence of excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
