Zenon are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of an Operator who provides a variety of Specialist Aviation Services to a diverse client base in the UK for a Head of Safety and Compliance on a permanent basis.
This is a highly fulfilling role where the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organisation maintains the necessary compliance, relevant approvals and exemptions within Air Operations, ATO, Part M and Part 145. They are also responsible for the development, administration, and maintenance of the SMS.
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
* Acting as the Nominated Person for Compliance Monitoring Manager and Safety Management for the Flight Operations (Air Operations), ATO, Part M and Part 145.
* The auditing and management of the compliance monitoring audit/inspection programme to meet the requirements of Air Operations, ATO, Part M and Part 145 audit schedules.
* Control and monitoring of all closure actions to findings and observations raised during internal auditing or by external auditors.
* Responsibility and management of the Management System Manual and interaction with approval NPs for document review.
* Management of the Part 145 company authorisation system for the engineers and logistics staff.
* Independent report compilations for the safety occurrence reports and incidents.
* Organising external audits of sub-contractors and their management systems.
* Maintaining and managing the approved supplier listing plus carrying out routine audits as required.
* Acting as the focal point for all UKCAA visits and audits pertaining to all three accreditations.
* Managing and ensuring progression of all Internal Occurrence Reports and Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MORs).
Minimum Skills and Experience:
* 5 years of relevant work experience in the application of safety standards and safe operating practices.
* Previously held a Nominated Postholder position, ideally as a Safety and/or Compliance Manager.
* Demonstrable aviation safety management systems experience and current with the latest SMS theories and philosophies.
* A thorough knowledge of CAA Air Operations, ATO, Part-CAMO, and Part-145 and applicable regulations.
* A thorough understanding of the principles and application of a Just Culture.
* Trained in Safety Investigation techniques, with at least 2 years of practical auditing experience in a commercial aviation environment.
