The position RES has been awarded the contract to provide safety from the system for the construction & commissioning of the 1.4GW East Anglia 3 (EA3) Wind farm & the associated OFTO assets.The project will require a number of 400kV SAPs (Senior Authorised Persons) to ensure the programme is maintained throughout the project. Full time employees and contracting positions are available with a planned start date of April 2025 to June 2025. Key Accountabilities
1. Always adherence to health and safety requirements and help to maintain and improve safety standards
2. Achieve and maintain Senior Authorised Person status at increasing voltages.
3. Become fully conversant and make sure that all works are undertaken in accordance with the RES Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules and Safety Rule Instructions, this will include but is not limited to:
4. Preparing, issuing and cancelling safety documents
5. Carrying out switching, isolation and earthing duties
6. Acting as Control Engineer
7. Preparing switching schedules
8. Managing the interface between system boundaries with site and DNO/NGT as required
9. Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments
10. Producing maintenance plans for HV equipment
11. Maintaining the asset register
12. Management and/or delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities on electrical equipment
13. Producing final reports
14. Carry out basic protection testing on HV related equipment. Complex protection relay testing is desirable
15. Undertaking troubleshooting and fault-finding on RES controlled plant/equipment
16. Carrying out inductions for sub-contractors and deliver Competent Person Training
17. Keeping in close communication with HV Control and Project Lead SAP
18. Liaising with external stakeholders such as DNO/NGT and asset owner
19. Reacting to emergencies, site outages and changing circumstances
20. Other duties commensurate with the role
Knowledge
21. HV Safe Systems of Work
22. Knowledge of the key legislation underpinning UK high voltage electrical asset operation and maintenance
23. Detailed knowledge of UK industry HV electrical safety rules
24. Detailed knowledge of HV equipment
25. HV maintenance practices including HSG230
26. Knowledge of Working offshore
Skills
27. Strong approach to safe working practices
28. Able to operate and maintain various types of HV plant/equipment
29. Excellent communication skills

Experience
33. Previously authorised as 400kV SAP
34. Previously worked on an offshore project

38. Basic HV protection testing
Qualifications
39. Full UK driving licence
40. Previously held SAP authorisation under high voltage electrical safety rules at 400kV
41. NEBOSH/IOSH Managing Safely or CITB SMSTS or equivalent
