If so, come and join EDF as an Assurance Lead The Opportunity As an Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring system safety and identify necessary safety precautions for the release of Electromechanical Plant and Equipment to contractors working on or near high-risk systems. Additionally, you will conduct regular inspections of contractor installations to ensure compliance with project expectations. This role may require flexible working hours, including night shifts, to support commissioning activities. What you’ll be doing Collaborating with Operational Engineers and Contractors, you’ll provide assurance that contractors are operating to NNB and legislative standards. You will be responsible for maintaining high safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and providing senior authorised person assistance where permits and safety from the system is required to achieve and maintain safe working conditions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with testing, commissioning, and maintaining technical systems while actively identifying project risks and areas for continuous improvement. The role also entails offering technical support, overseeing contractors, implementing site-specific health and safety procedures, and taking part in standby rotas to address system faults as needed. Who you are You will have an electrical and/or mechanical qualification with a strong understanding of safety rules and procedures. Experience with electrical/mechanical isolations, low-voltage distribution systems, and the ability to read technical drawings is essential. You’ll have experience working in regulated site environments, demonstrating knowledge of safety rules, documentation, and procedures while holding relevant site qualifications such as CSCS or ECS for electrical trades.
