The hospital also provides acute and psychiatric intensive care, medium and low secure services, and a community focused rehabilitation ward. A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Practitioner Psychologist to join the friendly, supportive and expanding psychology team based at Kneesworth House Hospital. The team consists of experienced qualified psychologists, trainee and assistant psychologists, and art therapists. Our psychologists work alongside colleagues from Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work to provide high quality care. The role includes: • HCPC Registered Practitioner Psychologist to provide psychological services to adult males across the Acute service [Nightingale Acute Ward & Foxton Acute Ward]. Salary: £48,250 Full Time: 37.5 hours a week [part time will also be considered Job Advert Role Description The successful candidate joining our service will be expected to provide: • A specialist service to people with a mental disorder through developing psychological formulations and assessments, and formulating plans for their psychological treatments. • Working alongside colleagues, the candidate will offer specialist psychological assessments, formulations and brief interventions, as per NICE and best practice guidelines. • To provide specialist advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals. • To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. • To provide supervision to assistant and trainee psychologists as required. Essential Requirements Candidates will have completed a Postgraduate qualification in clinical, forensic or counselling Psychology and be a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC). We welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with people with complex mental health needs, where psychosis and severe interpersonal difficulties are part of their presentation. They will be familiar with working through a trauma informed lens to understand what has happened in the life of the individual and to use evidence based interventions to alleviate distress. Preferable Experience of working in an acute setting and experience in at least one therapeutic modality.
